A120 Millennium Way Slip Roads - Upcoming Works and Public Information Events

Preliminary works will begin in the next few weeks on a scheme to create northbound and southbound slip roads linking the A120 to B1018 Millennium Way.

The scheme is being funded by the Department for Transport’s National Productivity Investment Fund, Essex County Council, Braintree District Council and Highways England. It will provide an essential upgrade in road infrastructure to help support regional economic growth in Essex.

The completed scheme will help increase highway capacity along the A120 and reduce congestion at Galleys Corner, improving air quality in Braintree District and providing further opportunities for investment in jobs and businesses along this key east-west route in Essex.

When will the work take place and how will it affect you?

Preliminary investigative works will officially get underway in September 2018 to facilitate the scheme construction; this is expected to take up to six weeks to complete.

These works may be noisy, however, we do not anticipate any disruption to local residents. We will make every attempt to minimise any inconvenience caused to local residents and businesses.

  • Works will take place during the daytime wherever possible
  • If any night work is required, it will be planned works and neighbouring residents and businesses will be notified in advance of any impacts
  • Minor vegetation clearance will be required to allow access to the site
  • Any necessary lane restrictions will be temporary
  • Disruption to users of the A120 will be minimised wherever possible
